How to test yor MTU
1/ Go to START
2/ Select RUN
3/ Type in CMD (This is to start the DOS Command Prompt)
4/ Type this in
ping www.google.ie -f -l 1472
5/Press RETURN
If you get a reply then your MTU = 1472 + 28 which is 1500 (The largest possible)
If you see Packet needs to be fragmented then keep
F1 pressed (It will retype the last line) but change the 1472 to 1471 and
press return.
Keep reducing the number until you get a reply. Add 28 to the number and this
is your MTU.
We supply a MTU of 1500. If you find you have less it could be your router if you have one. Some routers allow you to change the MTU.
